MDMA is an ‘empathogen’, a class of psychoactive drugs that induce experiences of emotional communion, oneness, connectedness, emotional openness – otherwise described as empathy.

This work symbolises love as a transmittable effect that can emanate from us, affecting those closest to us the strongest, but with the ability to be experienced vicariously by all who are open to its unstoppable power.

Background:

Empathy is one of the few pieces to utilise a single pill embossment design throughout, in this case a love heart.
