A psychedelic trip that takes the viewer on a mesmerising journey through movement and colour. Creating warped optical illusions of undulations that only exist in the mind, pounding a hypnotic rhythmic mantra. Chasing out different pattern structures in the artist’s unique dot matrix, concentric circles of circles becoming arcs of colour through the never ending spin of time.

This Is Number One. The first, the last, the unique entity that only exists in the digital realm.

Background:

Chemical X’s practice allows for a very varied approach to his output. Digital art is part of that practice and in This Is Number One he has chosen to develop an existing physical work and transform it through the application of time and motion. Specifically, he believes that blockchain technology is yet to find its true utility but that it will do so through stealth rather than fanfare. This work is already a part of that inevitable journey.
