Fucked Up

Fucked Up’s construction mirrors its intent. A sea of over ten thousand pills suspended in front of a carnival mirror that distorts how the viewer sees themselves amongst them. Lit like a nightclub and pulsing to the beat of the music the viewer is fucked up in every sense. The legend ‘FUCKED UP’ appearing and disappearing like a warning or an observation. A visceral experience, interactive and energetic, yet can also just be mellow and almost transcendental.

But it’s always totally fucked up.

Background:

An imposing work constructed of a solid block of acrylic and a set of programmable LED lights that can be selected to go from a flickering glitch to a sound responsive multicoloured light show down to a slow wave through the full colour spectrum – depending on the mood of the observer. This piece spent some time installed in a nightclub in Mayfair where it proved to be very popular with the punters, for some reason.
