Pill Pop Art
The Pill Pop Art series is a set of pop art inspired celebrations of the physical pills themselves and the designs that are embossed on them. When ecstasy first came to the UK, it would not be uncommon for the majority of partygoers, ravers and clubbers to all be on the same pill at the same time, sharing the same effects in communion with one another.
The different pill batches introduced subtle variations in effects and strength, a bit mongy, a bit trippy, a heavy rush, an energetic dance floor favourite. Each variety became totemic as the years went by and ravers succumbed to their inevitable destinies and reflected fondly on what those cheeky little fellas brought to their lives.

Materials
A set of six 4 colour, hand-pulled screen prints on 10mm cast acrylic. Laser cut and etched museum grade, non-reflective, UV resistant cast acrylic containing pills made from microcellulose, magnesium stearate and other materials. Mounted onto hand-cast glitter acrylic. Glazed in museum grade non-reflective, UV resistant glass in matt black solid Ayous wood frame.
